One or two days after getting home from our big trip we were planning the next one. Friends of ours were going to the King Tut exhibit at the AGO in Toronto. Charlotte, the kids, and I would go and since we were going, why not plan the zoo and the ROM too? We went up Tuesday morning. By the time we dropped off the dog, drove, rode the subway, and walked to the art gallery we were just in time for our 1pm exhibit tickets. The giant cup of coffee I drank before leaving the house was pushing my nerves over the edge. Finally, by the time we were nearing the end of the King Tut “stuff”, I felt myself starting to calm. Just in time for the subway and drive to Alex and Steve’s at the onset of rush hour. Really, it wasn’t so bad.
We had gorgeous weather for a trip to the zoo. It was a much more relaxed day. I was much less of a spaz.
Day three was fun, too. We rode the subway again, and then spent a few hours at the ROM. It would be great to take one or two big kids there at a time. Zach, especially, could really spend a lot of time reading everything, but loses real museum time to diaper changes and little kid eating schedules.
In fact, I would personally enjoy spending some time in that city riding the subway, exploring shops and shows, and food. It could probably be an enjoyable experience without five kids in tow!
Now I’m packing and cleaning like a mad-lady…. trying to get this house ready for a real estate agent to take pictures tomorrow.
