Den

We were talking about the French word caverne (cave) and Mimo said “‘cave’ is more used in your house.”  I said that it would be equivalent to what we call a “den”.  I went on to say that I always thought it was a weird word for a room in your house, but that maybe it was because I never grew up in a house with a den.  Zach didn’t miss a beat and added, “You grew up in a den!”   Mom and Dad, I thought you’d get a laugh out of this one.

Even I got a laugh out of this one! I think it’s very cool to have grown up in a den. It makes you more shield chick than most … and that is one of your most endearing qualities!
Glad you got the letter. It’s a little embarassing doing art and sending it to your house, when I know my artistic abilities are way outmatched by pretty much all four of your children, and maybe Jaska too!! But I LOVE markers/crayons/bright colours and drawing canoes … so I persist despite my lack of talent!!
    love to you!

Are Marty and Sandy Mama and Papa bear? I do know other animals live in den’s too but I am amusing myself imagining Marty being a big old grizzily.
