This picture does not do the hill justice. Most of our runs were only taken from about one third of the way up (if that).
Once Ben got part way up the hill he decided that Auntie Jo’s boyfriend was the safest person to ride with. “Ummm…. maybe… maybe I should go with Andrew.”
Ride ’em, Cowgirl!
Here Gabe is filling his shirt up with snow.
Several shirt-fillings later (he was literally full of snow here) he finally cried.
Snuggled warm with Mommy’s dry t-shirt, Auntie Jo’s jacket and lovin’ arms.
I don’t know what came over me….. my sister calls it “brave”, which is the most flattering word for it. I took a run from the top. It would be really hard to tend to my children alone with a broken arm or leg. When I tried to slow down so much snow (really, razor sharp ice crystals) flew into my face and behind my glasses that I couldn’t see. Which is worse – break neck speeds or blindness or both?
Wiping snow out of my eyes and off of the coldest face I’ve had in a long time. Right here I’m thinking, “no wonder Gabe cried”.
Auntie Jo, Boyfriend, and Roommate returned to our house for supper and wrestling matches.
Full day…. Ben fell asleep during The Magician’s Nephew.
