The Lion – Another colourful creation by Gabriel. Sketched with pencil and then coloured/painted in with watercolour pencil crayons.
An Autumn Scene – in watercolour by Zach.
We are going through Drawing with Children by Mona Brookes again. Since Zach has already gone through it, he is planning to do the lessons with us, but in watercolour. At first he was meticulously painting the outlines, as he would with pencil. So we did some random watercolour experiments, including sprinkling the wet paint with salt and alcohol. This got him going. He was very excited to discover that he enjoys this style of art, too, even though it is not in his usual style of realism.
